A  gang of unapologetic rockers, American Drag is a kicking live band from San Francisco’s North Bay Area with songs to match. AD combines the classic rock attitude of the Black Crowes, the song craft of Tom Petty and the experimental edge of the Mars Volta to take audiences anywhere-from anthem rock to full on prog-rock jams.

The band's self-titled debut chronicles a peculiar bit of Americana— the “American Dream” turned “American Drag” and the human spirit’s struggle for redemption. AD front man and lead vocalist Will Evankovich casts his gritty narrations amid hard-edged roots rock and electronic textures. Lead guitarist Jason Thwaites’ bittersweet lyricism and anti-technical dissonance brings fragility to a sturdy sonic landscape that gives AD its edge. Bassist Joseph Shaughnessy locks in the foundation with a fat bottom end that compliments the melody of the music while guitarist and backing vocalist Monroe Grisman hammers power chord rhythm while adding subtle harmony vocals.
